The condition of the bus will be taken into consideration when offering and contracting this extended service contract. It will also be based on the bus being properly maintained during the warranty period.
The Managing Director of Bus Maintenance (BMNT) has overall responsibility for the administration of this SOP.
Directors, Superintendents, Managers, Supervisors and Lead Persons (or designers) are responsible for dissemination and review of this SOP with all appropriate employees. Each is further responsible for appropriate oversight and quality control necessary to ensure full adherence to this SOP at all operating and support locations.
It is the responsibility of each supervisor and employee to ensure that all Safety guidelinesare followed when performing maintenance, or any activity, on Authority equipment orwhile on Authority property. This includes the use of safety equipment such as but notlimited to, use of a safety vest, gloves, goggles, proper footwear. Employees shall alsofollow Safety Data Sheet (SDS) guidelines when using products containing chemicals andadhere to the requirements of the Authority Electronic Device Policy.
All preventive and corrective maintenance procedures shall be performed by the appropriately trained Bus Maintenance/Contract personnel at each of the operating Divisions/Shops.
The following PM Programs shall be conducted to ensure optimum fleet performance.
Note: PMs are generated based on the complete asset vehicle listing on applicable portalor Service and maintenance recording procedure/ system. This system is continuallyupdated to track new buses and disposal of buses.
The scheduled preventive maintenance functions outlined above, as well as corrective maintenance shall be set forth in a detailed step-by-step procedure found in the bus manufacturer’s “Maintenance Manual”, Standard Practice Bulletins, SOPs or maintenance directives located at each Division and Shop.
Maintenance personnel responsible for performing the preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance activity shall do so in accordance with the approved procedures established in the documents in Section B, following all steps in the order specified, using the appropriate test equipment and/or tools, with the upmost emphasis placed on safe and quality practices.
Completed preventive and corrective maintenance activities shall be documented in on applicable portal or Service and maintenance recording procedure/ system and on appropriate reporting forms. The supervisor must review the reporting forms, and based on this review, authorize the bus to be placed into revenue service or taken out-of-service.
