Refurbishment Requirements

Body Exterior and Structure

1. Structure

Remove the body panels as needed and repair the structure as required. The body exterior and structure will be inspected for rust, cracks, corrosion, and damage by removing exterior side panels from the window ledge down, and repairs will be made as necessary.

2. Panels

Inspectthe exterior body panels. Body damage will be repaired, panels thatcannot be repaired will be replaced.

3. Bumpers

Repair the Front and Rear bumpers as needed and refinish the bumpers.

4. Undercarriage

Repair the undercarriage structure and undercoat as needed.

5. Windows and Glazing

Repair the Window frames wherever possible and replace the windows thatcannot be repaired

6. Articulating Joint

Inspect and overhaul the articulating joint. Repair or replace the components that require attention.

Remove, clean, and repair inner curtains of grease and debris:

  • Replace plywood flooring with marine-grade plywood where needed.

  • Install Altro Trans flooring as a replacement for vinyl flooring, matching the existing color and pattern where possible.

  • Heat-weld all vinyl joints.

  • Install new step edge nosing at doors, steps, and operator riser where needed.

  • Paint stanchions for corrosion prevention if necessary.

7. Refinish

Aftercompletion of the repairs to the exterior body panels, bumpers andother parts, the bus shall be refinished with the JUTC supplied paintcodes specifications.

Decalsto be installed after paint. Decals will be provided by JUTC.
